Beija-Flor Cotton Volume Shirt Dress
A touch of rainforest magic. Hayley’s travels in Costa Rica are the inspiration for this print: bold blooms translated in 100% organic cotton. The print name, Beija Flor, is the Brazilian Portuguese word for hummingbird. Hayley commissioned her father, John Menzies, to create watercolour paintings of the birds that captivated her attention in Costa Rica. These paintings became part of the print, which took 2 weeks for our London team to illustrate. Handwritten lyrics from Duran Duran’s ‘Rio’ – the inspiring song for the collection – are written throughout. Finished with a V-neck placket, 3⁄4 length sleeves, fabric belt and embossed gold daisy buttons, the voluminous skirt is gathered at the waist, bringing everything together with luxuriant feminine elegance. Wear belted for effortless comfort and ease.
